The most comprehensive data on injuries associated with in-line hockey jerseys has been compiled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissions National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS).25 Data from NEISS and independent investigations2,6,10,13 confirm that the upper extremity is the most common site for injuries associated with in-line nhl jerseys. Data amalgamated by NEISS for the year 1994 showed involvement of the wrist in 24% of the injuries, followed by the lower leg-knee-ankle in 19%, the lower arm and elbow in 18%, and the head and face in 14%.
